Leisure and sports activities:

Tennis, squash, surfing (spots at Le Moule), diving and snorkelling, horse riding (rides on the beach), sailboat or motorboat renting, and much more.

Beaches:  “La Coulée Douce” and “L’Anse de la Gourde” beaches. Many beaches between Saint-François and Le Moule.

International Golf: Splendid 18-hole golf course located at Saint-François. It was designed by the most famous American architect, Robert Trent Jones, and has a snack bar, a restaurant, plus hiring and sale of equipment and buggies. 

The Marina: La Grande Saline marina is the departure point for cruising in the neighbouring islands (Désirade, Marie Galante, “Petite Terre” island, etc) and big-game fishing trips.

Around the Marina: shops, restaurants, bars, night club, casino, hotels, harbour master’s office, petrol station, a boat repair yard and a speedboat workshop are at the disposal of  pleasure sailors.

Saint-François Aerodrome: This aerodrome accommodates light aircraft and helicopters, and offers many aeronautical activities (pilot training, introductory flights, parachuting, plane hire, etc). Viewing flights for tourists and transfer of passengers to dependencies and nearby islands.

Tourist sites:

Saint-François town: It has preserved the charm of its old town where you will be able to experience the West-Indian lifestyle around its fishing port, its market and the church square.

The zevallos residence (a former plantation house), the Edgar Clerc ethnographic museum, the “Pointe des Châteaux”, the luxuriant vegetation of Basse Terre and its volcano, and much more.

For tourists from an EU country, an identity card is sufficient, no passport or vaccine are required. For French-speaking countries, same currency, same language, no snakes on the island, very low rainfall on Grande Terre compared to  Basse Terre, beautiful weather guaranteed on Grande Terre 10 months out of 12, from 1st November until 31st August.
